Brecon Corries 1 Garw SBGC 5

BRECON Corries were taught a footballing lesson by lower-league opponents Garw SBGC as they crashed out of the WJ Owen Cup at the quarter-final stage on a disappointing afternoon.

Early Corries’ defensive and goal-keeping errors led to the visitors going two goals up early on but a goal from Paul Keddle kept the tie alive going into half time.

However in the second half, a dominant Garw team easily brushed aside the Corries’ challenge scoring three more goals to no reply from the home side.

The Corries are back to league duties next weekend at home to bottom team Bettws FC. This is a must-win game for the Corries as they look to move up the table and avoid being dragged into a relegation fight.
