Hay St Marys Reserves and Rhayader Town Reserves will clash in the Pip Samuel (Electrical) Mid Wales (South) League Cup Final after semi-final victories at the week-end. The in-form Saints, who have won ten of their last eleven league games, went through with a 2-1 verdict at Brecon Northcote while holders, Rhayader needed extra-time to triumph 2-1 at Talgarth Town.

First half goals from Kevin Jones and Rob McNamara gave Hay a two goal half-time lead at Northcote who pulled one back in the second half through topscorer, Joel Evans.

In the tie at Talgarth, Harry Sharman’s fine 25 yard strike in the first half looked as if it was going to be sufficient to see the hosts through. But youngster, Ryan Rowlands headed an equaliser on the ninety minute mark before Jordan Mcfadden grabbed Rhayader’s winner in the first half of extra-time.

In the one game in the Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South), a depleted Knighton Town Reserves fell to a 2-1 defeat at Llanidloes Town Reserves. Rhys Evans scored twice in the first half when The Daffs had Dan Richards sent off but Llanidloes held on after Dan Farmer red7uced the deficit.
