NINE staff with a total of 126 years of service between them left the same primary school at the end of the summer term.

As 27 Year Six pupils at Cefnllys Primary School moved on to Llandrindod Wells High School, the staff and children also had to say goodbye to a large proportion of the school’s total number sof teachers and teaching assistants.

Presentations were made to the nine teachers during a sad final assembly, with Lorraine Cadwallader Jones the acting head teacher paying tribute to them for all the hard work they have done at the school.

Lorraine is pictured beklow left making presentations to the two longest-serving members of staff Julie Jones (left) school bursar and Wendy Wilding the school caretaker both of whom have been at the school for the past 28 years.

The other members of staff leaving are teachers Sarah Powell and Tim Mann, who both have 15 years of service at the school, Catherine Davies (two years’ service as a teacher), Roz Green (25 years as a teaching assistant), Rick Johnson (three years as a teaching assistant), and Abi Evans (one year as a teaching assistant). Faye Koopmann-Glass also left after 10 years as the school meals administrator.

At the end of the assembly, Ms Cadwallader Jones said: “The school won’t be the same without them.”
