Off-road vehicle thieves strike

By Twm Owen in Local People

Thieves have stolen off-road vehicles from two properties in the Brecon area.

The vehicles were taken either during Tuesday night, August 8 or the following morning from a farm in Heol Senni and a house with stables in Pencelli.

Dyfed-Powys Police is now warning farmers to remain on guard for potential thefts and to take precautions.

A John Deere gator vehicle, that’s similar in appearance to a golf buggy, was taken from a sheep shed, at the farm in Heol Senni, while the Farr 4X4 utility quad was taken from Pencelli.

PCSO Billy Dunne said: "Farmers are busy going back and fore between sheds but we would remind people to lock up sheds.

"We urge people to please remain vigilant and report any suspicious persons or vehicles in their area via 101 or in an emergency 999."

The John Deere gator is described as green while the Farr 4X4 utility is light green.

PCSO Dunne said police can also offer crime prevention advice: "Anyone wanting crime prevention advice can give us a call and we’ll go out and advice on things like suitable padlocks and CCTV."
