Five intrepid staff members from Builth Wells Veterinary Practice are set to hike 26 miles as part of a national charity campaign.

Nicola Rolinson, Sarah Parker, Eve Thomas, Laura Turner and Karen Cameron-Price will take part in the Alzheimer’s Society Trek26 challenge on Saturday, July 8.

Beginning and ending at Cantref Farm, Brecon, the route will take the team into the heart of the national park with a climb up to Fan y Big (717m) before following the Brecon Way until reaching Talybont Reservoir. From here, the team will join onto the tow path of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal before heading back to the finish.

Personal experience of close family and friends with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia motivated the group to undertake this challenge.

Money raised will help fund research into the causes of dementia and to support those already living with the condition.

The group have set up a JustGiving page and cash donations at the practice are also welcome.
