The Hay-on-Wye Sport Relief events were enjoyed by young and old on Sunday.
There were 100 runners who took to the streets in the one, three and six-mile events and smiles and enjoyment was the order of the day.
Hay Hotfooters Running Club hosted the event at Kilvert’s Inn in the centre of Hay with cakes provided by Hay WI. The one-mile event was a circuit of the town streets and was started by Hay mayor Rob Golesworthy who praised the range of ages and ability of the runners, from toddlers to OAPs. The three and six-mile events started with a lap or two of the Buttermarket then went off around country lanes to Cusop Church and back.
Over £600 was raised on the day with much more to come from sponsorships and online entry money.
