AROUND 200 youngsters from the ages of six to 13 from the Gwernyfed High School catchment area put on their largest show to date at the Hay Festival on Friday, May 27, performing to a mammoth audience of 900, with support from festival director Peter Florence.

Months of rehearsals culminated in a showcase of musical talent from nine local primary schools and Gwernyfed High. Prior to the show the young singers were treated to a celebrity visit by ITV's 'The Choir' star Gareth Malone who led a lively and humorous vocal warm-up.
