A father has appealed for witnesses to come forward after his son’s car was shoved ‘25 feet down the road’ while parked in Brecon town centre over the weekend.
Simon Williams, from Brecon, was enjoying the rugby with his son, Jacob, on the evening of Saturday, November 6 when Jacob received a text from a friend to tell him his car had been hit.
The father and son then discovered that Jacob’s car, which had been parked outside the Guildhall on High Street, appeared to have been struck.
The car, a grey Volkswagen, had been shoved several feet from where it had been parked and debris from the tail light was littered in the road.
The incident, which occured at around 10:30pm, has been reported to police.
Simon said: “When we got there, police were sweeping debris off the road then pushed the car back to the previous parking space.
“There are cameras along the road but we have heard nothing off the police so far.
“My son was luckily not in the car, but if someone had been walking along the pavement at that time then circumstances could have turned out a lot worse - but thankfully not.
“We cannot believe the driver drove off.”
The car, a grey Volkswagen, is now undriveable as the petrol tank is twisted around the back tyre.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Enquiries are being made following reports of a vehicle colliding with a parked car in High Street, Brecon at around 10.30pm on Saturday night."The parked vehicle sustained some damage, but thankfully no-one was injured,"Anyone with information can visit www.dyfed-powys.police.uk/ro/report/
