Dyfed Powys Police is investigating a high value jewellery theft and cheque fraud that occurred in Brecon on Thursday, July 30.

At approximately 12pm a man entered a jewellery shop in Brecon Town Centre. He asked to look at several rings, distracted the staff member and made off with a three stoned diamond and platinum ring, with an approximate value of £12,000.

The same male visited other jewellery/antique shops in the area and presented one of the shops with a cheque in payment for three rings. The cheque is suspected to be fraudulent.

Police would particularly like to speak to the man pictured who could have information that could help with the investigation.
