On the last Friday of September another successful coffee morning was held at the Bell Country Inn, Llanyre.

Over 100 people attended for coffee, cake and a catch-up.

Over the past two years the event has been supported but in a click and collect format, so people have missed out on the catch-up element.

The final figure for the event was £1900.96, to be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

This was achieved by donations in return for coffee and home-made cake, given by the Bell Country Inn and Sue’s Cakes and Bakes of Llandrindod Wells.

Prior to the event Sylvia and Ray of Penybont sold pickles and chutney that raised over £340 towards the grand total.

Publican Tracey said: “We’d like to thank everyone for their generous donations towards this cause.

“Everybody is conscious of spending their money wisely at the moment so in the current financial situation this is a truly impressive amount.”
