Church bells rang out across Brecon on last week to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
Brecon Bellringers performed a sequence of commemorative ringing at three churches - beginning at St David’s at 4.30pm, followed by St Mary’s at 5.30pm and concluding at Brecon Cathedral at 6.30pm.
Due to a shortage of ringers, each tower was rung on six bells, although St Mary’s has eight and the Cathedral has 10.

So that all the bells at each church could be rung on such national occasions Brecon Bellringers plan to start a training programme for new ringers soon.
Anyone interested in learning can contact Paul Johnson at [email protected] or speak to any of the bellringers.
