A Brecon building society branch has collected more than 200 plastic tubs as part of a charitable recycling campaign.
Monmouthshire Building Society, based in the Bulwark, has recently been supporting a Greene King pub campaign to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and recycle plastics. The branch has been collecting plastic chocolate tubs, biscuit tubs or cracker tubs hanging around after Christmas.
The Tub2Pub campaign ensures that all tubs collected will be taken to a plastic reprocessing centre where they’re shredded, before being sold onto plastic manufacturers to use in place of virgin plastics. All money raised from the sale of Tub2Pub plastics will be given directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Monmouthshire Building Society has managed to collect more than 210 tubs with the help of customers and the local community.
Branch manager Zoe Mathias said: "We wanted to thank everyone for supporting this campaign - we have been overwhelmed by the response. We only thought we would collect a few!"
Vance Fairman-Smith, Greene King’s supply chain director, added: “We’re really pleased to be able to provide this recycling service to our local communities across the country.
"This is a ‘win win’ situation as we look to save the plastic tubs going to landfill and at the same time being able to support our national charity partner, Macmillan.”
