A Brecon based choir has already reached 700 views for their first ever music video which they premiered at a concert last Friday.

The Alive and Kickin’ Community Choir performed live at The Castle Hotel as well as showcasing the music video, which is now available to watch on YouTube, for their charity single "Lay Your Head on Me" which features and was written by the vocal coach, singer and songwriter Tanya Walker.

The song was written after two brothers, six-year-old Oskar and four-year-old Theo, were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2014.

Ros Sandhu, the boy’s aunty, is a member of the Alive and Kickin’ Community Choir - she told the choir and the choir leader, Tanya, who composed the song, with the help of local producer Gary White, as they wanted to do something to help.

The choir recorded the song and the music video using funds which were raised through donations, performances, raffles and even a pedalathon in Scotland.

The music video for "Lay Your Head on Me" by the Alive and Kickin’ Choir:

It features Tanya and the choir, and accompanies the song in telling the story of a young dad who’s child received the diagnosis for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and the fear of losing his little boy.

"Lay Your Head on Me" was written as part of the Song4Harrison campaign - started by the choir with Harrison’s Fund, a charity aiming to fund pioneering research into a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Speaking at the music video’s debut, the fundraising and campaigns executive for Harrison’s Fund Luci Roberts said: "Families living with Duchenne know that their time together is short until a cure is found to beat this condition.

"They go through family life living with a child who is getting weaker when he should be stronger and nothing they can do will stop the deterioration that is happening before their eyes. The steady march of time beats on relentlessly. At present there is no cure. But there is hope.

"It is clear from the work we are doing in research projects and clinical trials up and down the country that science is on the verge of a major breakthrough. We are committed to ploughing every penny we receive into research that finds a cure, or slows down the progression of the disease significantly. But we can’t do it alone."

You can download "Lay Your Head on Me" using the #Song4Harrison Bandcamp for £1 and you can donate to Harrison's Fund using their website.
