Brecon-based online training company SudoCyber has been honoured with the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award 2025, joining 11 other Welsh organisations recognised for their outstanding support to the Armed Forces community.

The ERS Gold Award is the highest accolade given by the Ministry of Defence to employers who actively support Reservists, veterans, military families, and Cadet Force volunteers through enhanced HR policies and benefits, such as 10 extra paid leave days for reservists.

SudoCyber, established just three years ago, began by training military personnel and has since expanded to provide specialist cybercrime training for police officers. Founders Jason Davies, Marc Del-Valle, and John Davies all have served in the Armed Forces, bringing firsthand experience to their innovative training approach.

The company offers gamified online learning through a cyber range featuring over 1,500 labs and challenges, enabling users to develop cyber skills flexibly, whether at home, in class, or in groups.

Minister for Veterans and People, Al Carns DSO OBE MC MP, praised the employers, saying: “Employers are crucial partners in protecting our security and boosting the economy. By backing veterans, Reservists, military families, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and the Cadet movement, these organisations build resilient communities and the innovation Defence needs. I congratulate them and thank them for their outstanding commitment.”

The ERS Gold Award must be renewed every five years, ensuring continued support for the Armed Forces community. It recognises organisations that embed the Armed Forces Covenant - a national pledge to treat serving personnel, veterans, and their families fairly - into their workplace culture.
