MORE than 6,500 passenger journeys a year made possible by Hay and District Dial-A-Ride will be able to continue thanks to two generous donations.

On what was described as a 'hugely, hugely, important day' for the charity which provides a bus service for the elderly and infirm, members and supporters toasted the launch of a £36,000 new minibus at a celebration at Cusop Village Hall on Friday, April 11.

Last year the bus made more than 6,500 passenger trips. Of those more than 600 were to GP appointments. It was all made possible due to volunteers who donated more than 5,000 hours of their time.
