BRECON and District Mind held a terrific concert at the Guildhall on Saturday, October 21.
The performers were the great community choir ‘Alive and Kicking’, sax and vocal duo ‘Larking’ and harpist Martha Powell.
All three acts were highly entertaining and full of fun and vigour.
Martha had composed one of her tunes herself which received a great ovation.
The charity made about £400 and we thank our sponsors Punch and James Maughan, Brecon Rotary Club, Kirsty Williams AM, Nigel and Helen Roberts, Nick Morell,Mitchell Meredith and James Davenport.
Without their generous sponsorship we would not have made a profit. Over 50 people attended, to whom we are very grateful, and we thank all the staff of MIND for their help and Sir Andrew Large for running the bar and Lady Sue Large, Anna Knox and Jonathan Morgan for arranging the concert.
Thanks to the Mayor and the clerk for allowing us to use the Guildhall and providing security.
