PRINCE Charles has visited a remote hilltop chapel near Hay-on-Wye - nine months after a mid air drama delayed his arrival.

The Prince of Wales was due to visit Maesyronnen Chapel, which is mile north of Glasbury-on-Wye, in May last year when he visited the Hay Literature Festival.

But a helicopter carrying Charles and wife Camilla was forced to perform a emergency landing, delaying their arrival in the border town by hours - and forcing the Prince to cancel his planned visit to the 17th century chapel, thought to be one of the oldest non-conformist chapels in Wales.

However Charles took the chance to visit the chapel at the end of a day of engagements in Herefordshire and Powys on Friday, January 31.

Charles had earlier visited the Judge's Lodging Museum in Presteigne.
