Community groups and charities in the Builth Wells area are being urged to apply to the Co-op Local Community Fund.
Groups don’t have to be a registered charity to apply, but you must be a not-for-profit group and deliver a project to benefit your local community.
You can apply if your project fulfills at least one of these criteria:
• brings people together to access food
• helps improve people’s mental wellbeing
• creates opportunities for young people to be heard and make a difference
• helps people protect local biodiversity or tackle climate change by reducing carbon emissions
The closing date for applications in May 29, 2022.
Helen Tuite is the new Member Pioneer at the Co-op in Builth Wells, and said: “I’m new to the area, having moved here from the West Midlands at the end of last year. So I don’t know that many charities or community groups in the area yet. Therefore, I’m hoping that members of the public will help spread the word about our Local Community Fund.
“We’d like to be able to support some great causes in the local area. Even if a charity or community group isn’t selected, there may be other ways the Co-op can help them.”
