AS events were held around the UK last week to mark the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War One, Brecon's commemorations have come under fire, with critics concerned at the way the town marked the centenary.
Britain declared war with Germany at 11pm on August 4, 1914 and as national commemoration services were held across Wales and the rest of the UK including the 'Lights Out' project where people were invited to turn off their lights for a collective moment of reflection to mark the moment war was declared, the town's response to the anniversary has been condemned.
