Fire crews helped to rescue a cow which had become stuck in a bog.
The cow, which weighed around 600 kilogrammes, had managed to become stuck in the deep mud in a field in Llanwrtyd Wells this morning.
Crews from Llanwrtyd, Llandovery, Llandrindod Wells and Rhayader all helped to rescue the cow using lines, strops, shovels, airbags and what they described as “brute strength”.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service tweeted on the Powys Command account at 12.56pm today: “Cow released and checked over by local vet and all good, crews now cleaning all the equipment.”
It also tweeted images of a large group of firefighters helping to dig and heave the cow from the deep mud.
