IT was a weekend where the weather was almost as hot as the flame the runners were carrying as Wales welcomed the Olympic Torch.

Although the relay route did not pass directly through Brecon and Radnorshire, a glut of Mid Wales residents ran routes in both West and South Wales, Montgomeryshire and Herefordshire over the weekend.
