On Saturday, November 13 at 11am, there will be an exciting opportunity for youngsters to try their hand at bell ringing in Brecon Cathedral.
The taster session was previously arranged to take place on Saturday, October 9, but was unfortunately cancelled due to covid.
Richard Wootten, an ordinand with the Church of Wales, has organised this event after bell ringers at the cathedral kindly offered to share their knowledge of bell ringing with young people in the area.
Richard has set up a church in Wales initiative, called The Hang Out. The Hang Out is based in Brecon and their main aim is to boost the involvement of young people in the local church. They host meet ups, which include a range of activities from pop corn making, to learning relaxing meditation techniques, as well as other intriguing opportunities. The group is aimed towards young people aged 11-15 years old and can be found on Facebook.
Richard told The Brecon and Radnor Express “It’s a great chance for some local youngsters to try something new and exciting.”
Due to a lack of space in the bell tower, it is essential that you book a spot for this taster session. If you or your child is interested please message The Hang Out on Facebook or email Richard at [email protected]
