A DOG owner is fearful his beloved pet has been stolen from outside his home in Presteigne.
Alex Ramsay’s rough coated golden lurcher Jaffa went missing from outside his home in Greenfield Road, Presteigne around mid-day on Monday, October 10.
Alex said: "Someone had left the gate open and Jaffa had wandered out on to the pavement, which she quite often did. She would wander around to the neighbours and then come back again.
"An acquaintance of mine was passing the house and noticed Jaffa on the pavement and thought she would stop and make sure she was back in safe. As she went up to the roundabout about 50 yards away to turn around there was no sign of the dog but noticed a white car pulled up erratically on the pavement with the door open. We can’t be sure but this is why we believe she has been stolen."
The 66-year-old, who lives with wife Helena 58, said that 15-month-old Jaffa is very friendly: "She is a beloved family pet. She isn’t a sheep chaser or a working dog and for her to wander off would be very out of character.
"We paid around £150 for her when she was a puppy but I would imagine if someone were to breed from her the puppies would be worth a lot more. We have reported that she is missing and possible stolen to the police and would be happy to offer a generous reward for her safe return."
