A dog has gone missing after he was involved in a crash in the Brecon Beacons around lunchtime.
The small terrier called Patch ran onto the A470 near the Storey Arms carpark just after 1pm today when he was hit by a car.
The car did not stop after it hit Patch who then ran off into a field next to the road.
The two cars behind the vehicle, which hit the small dog, collided however there were no injuries reported and the two drivers exchanged details.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: “We received a report of a two car collision on January 3 just after 1pm near Storey Arms, Brecon.
“A dog ran onto the road and caused two cars to collide. The dog was hit by a car that failed to stop. The dog ran off into the field.
“The two cars behind collided. Drivers of the two vehicles exchanged details.”
Brecon Road Policing Unit tweeted a picture of Patch along with an appeal, which can be seen on Twitter here, for the missing dog.
The tweet said: “A dog was unfortunately run over and he then ran off and is now missing, name Patch.”
The tweet asked that anyone who has seen or found Patch call the force on 101 quoting message 137 of today – Friday, January 3.
