A CHARITY fun horse ride organised recently by the Endurance GB Mid and North Wales Group has resulted in £725 being raised for charity.
The event which started from Treforgan Farm, Dolau, allowed the riders to enjoy either a 11-mile or 18-mile route through the beautiful Radnor Forest then out onto the the open hill above Llandegley.
The riders felt that the views were stunning and well worth the climb. They returned along quiet lanes and bridleways back to Treforgan in Dolau where they had a barbecue.
The organisers said the event could not have gone ahead without the help and assistance of many local people including David and Heather Lewis, who allowed the day to take over their farm as a venue, many local farmers who allowed access to their land and some even moved stock to allow gates to be left open.
Thanks were given to all who participated and supporters who made it such an enjoyable day.
It is hoped to do another run in 2018.
£500 of the monies raised was presented to the Bracken Trust in Llandrindod Wells who do invaluable work for cancer suffers and their families. The remainder of the monies went to other local charities.
