The Llandrindod Children’s Eisteddfod Committee has announced that the 2022 Eistedfodd will be held on Saturday, October 8.

The event is set to begin at 9:30am in Holy Trinity Church, Llandrindod Wells, and will be hosting various competitions for children aged 11 and under.

All local schools have been called to participate, and parents can also enter their kids individually for the singing, reciting, and playing competitions.

The event is also bilingual, and therefore, children can choose to perform in either Welsh or English - furthermore there are no set pieces this year.

The winning school choir will be awarded the ‘Perpetual cup’ which has been donated to the event by Llandrindod Town Council.

To win the coveted trophy, the winning choir will have to sing a song in both Welsh and English.

It was also announced that the adjudicators for this years’ Eistedfodd will be long-time friends of the show, Delyth Taylor and Ydwena Jones.

Beth Thomas will be the accompanist, while Reverend Andrew Tweed will reprise his position as MC for the day - having held the role for many years.
