THIS year's Beating Retreat in Brecon had an explosive start thanks to a volley from a pair of 105mm Light Guns operated by the Welsh TA Artillery.

They marked the start of the main part of the event where the Regimental Band and the Corps of Drums of the Royal Welsh unveiled a completely new musical programme.
