A STRICKEN shop owner found out he really could rely on his Facebook friends when he posted an urgent SOS for someone to dial 999.

Brecon computer shop owner and photographer Peter Casaru was writhing on his living room floor in agony following a muscle spasm caused by an old back injury when he updated his status on the social networking site in a desperate bid to summon an ambulance.

Fortunately within quarter of an hour of Peter posting his cry for help his online friends had responded and within minutes two ambulances had arrived at his cottage at Talybont-on-Usk in the Brecon Beacons.
