THE bereaved father of a Welsh soldier killed in Afghanistan continues to call for his son's regiment to be saved from possible amalgamation.
Lance Corporal Richard Scanlon of Rhymney, Caerphilly from the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards (QDG) also known as the Welsh Cavalry, was killed aged 31 while on duty in Helmand Province last year.
