On Sunday, March 31, 85 guests sat down to a three-course lunch at the Castle of Brecon Hotel. This had been organised by Brecon Branch of the RAF Association to celebrate the end of the centenary year of the Royal Air Force.

Music was provided by an ensemble from within the RAF St Athan Voluntary Band. The Standards were marched in by RAF Air Cadets from Merthyr, Abergavenny and Brecon.

Cllr Ieuan Williams, a former mayor of Brecon, was presented with a 50-year membership badge by Group Captain (retd.) Dr Bob Grattan, the last president of the Wales Area of the RAF Association.

Among the guests were serving members of the Royal Air Force, town councillors, and senior representatives of the Wales, Midlands and south west area of the RAF Association.
