THE organisers of the World Alternative Games have turned to eBay for a sponsor.

The Llanwrtyd Wells based event, held for the first time last year in celebration of the Olympics, is seeking a sponsorship deal for its 2014 Games via the online auction site.

Event organisers first advertised on the site on Thursday, September 26 with a reserve of £30,000 and bidders have until 10am this Sunday in which to make an offer.

Looking for a title sponsor for next year, Games secretary Karen Perkins, who posted the ad, said she hopes it will tempt potential sponsors with the success of last year where visitors from all over the world descended on the Breconshire town for the games as well as attracting global media interest.
