Visitors are enjoying the final weekend of the Hay Festival where US politician Bernie Sanders is among the speakers.

The man who lost out on the Democratic presidential nomination to Hilary Clinton is due to talk at the festival’s largest venue the Tata tent this evening and discuss his left wing populist approach to politics.

Also appearing at the festival today is Welsh actor Michael Sheen who has also stepped into the political arena on the left.

The festival has this year been celebrating its 30th anniversary of bringing big names discussing big ideas to the border town.

Sunday sees former Arsenal footballer Tony Adams discuss the personal problems that beset his otherwise successful career and why he set up his Sporting Chance charity that provdes treatment and support for sporting stars suffering with addiction.

The festival closes on Sunday with a performance by comic Bill Bailey while socialist film maker Ken Loach, whose film I, Daniel Blake has captured the struggles of those dependant on state benefits in modern Britain.

Photographer Sara Miles captured these images at the festival this weekend.
