FOR three years, from the age of 11-14, a typical day for Aled Saunders might have included English, maths and science and maybe an outside activity.
A pretty average school day but 15-year-old Aled from Brecon hasn't been to school since 2008, he is one of among a growing number of children being educated at home.
According to figures released by the Welsh Government earlier this month, 986 pupils were taken out of local authority education to be taught at home last year – compared to 896 in 2010-11.
