A BELOVED pet dog has survived a vicious attack from what its owner believes is a black panther type predator.

Judging by the horrific throat injuries the Alaskan Malamute sustained during the late night incident last week, Brecon businessman Chris O'Mahoney is convinced that it was assaulted by a big black cat.

This follows several sightings of a smiliar creature by Chris and his belief that a big cat may have been responsible for the attack has been backed up by an expert on the exotic animals as well as staff at the veterinary practice that saved the life of his dog, Dusk.
