AN URGENT public meeting called to address fears about the future of healthcare in Builth Wells has been hailed a success.

Residents in Builth and local councillors had called for the meeting after ITALICS The Brecon & Radnor Express ITALICS revealed in May that the Builth and Llanwrtyd Medical Practice had decided to switch its 'walk in and wait' system at the doctor's surgery in the town to an appointment based service.

Many fears surrounding the Glandwr Park practice's decision were allayed, however, after a public meeting organised by local council figures was held at the high school on June 20.
