Llandovery Community Cinema has announce a special screening of the acclaimed environmental documentary ‘Wilding,’ as part of their brand new programme focused on films that explore pressing environmental and ecological issues.

‘Wilding ‘ is a powerful and visually stunning documentary that explores the urgent need to restore natural habitats and reintroduce native species in order to heal ecosystems and tackle climate change. Through perseverance of one couple, it highlights stories of hope, resilience, and transformation in the face of environmental crisis.

This thought-provoking feature will be shown on Saturday, May 17, at 2pm, in the Rhys Prichard Memorial Hall, and will be accompanied by a community meal share and a post-film discussion.

The evening will begin with a friendly and informal shared meal, of foraged nettle soup starting from 1pm. Guests are encouraged to go along for a bowl soup, free with your ticket. Come along to enjoy some food and conversation with this wonderful chance to connect and share recipes, and build community spirit before settling down for the film.

Following the screening, there will be an opportunity to discuss the presentation with special guest, Alan, of Climate Action Llandovery - a group that has been instrumental in bringing the Electric Vehicle Car Club, Repair Cafe and Library of Things (Pethau Pawb) to Llandovery in conjunction with Ynni Sir Gar.

It will be an opportunity to reflect on the themes of the film, ask questions, and consider how we can take action locally to offer better sustainable stewardship of the land for the benefit of ourselves and future generations.

A spokesperson for Llandovery Community Cinema said: “This is more than just a film night – it’s an evening of connection, conversation, and community action.”
