A radio presenter who is best known for playing the "Go Compare Man" is staying at a hotel in Llandrindod Wells.
Wynne Evans is staying at Hotel Commodore, based on Spa Road, while he is taking part in the 40th anniversary broadcast for BBC Radio Wales.
The opera singer behind 'Gio Compario', who is staying in the now famous Room 19 which hosted Kevin Bacon on Monday, October 1, is known by millions of people across the UK for his role in the Go Compare insurance adverts.
BBC Radio Wales is embarking on a week-long tour across Wales which features Aberdare, Barmouth and Connah’s Quay as well as Llandrindod.
Andrea Murdock, the owner of Hotel Commodore, said: "He arrived in the early hours of the morning for the 40 Years BBC Radio Wales tour.
"He’s a super nice gentleman - we felt honoured yet again to have our rooms filled with a celebrity.
"We would like to thank the BBC team for choosing our hotel and particularly our amazing little town"
Joining Mr Evans for the station’s 40th birthday celebrations are Today presenters Jason Mohammad and Eleri Sion.
Four decades ago, Anita Morgan’s voice was the first to be broadcast on the station as she presented the first breakfast show on November 13 in 1978 which involved rugby headlines and a talking parrot.
The English-language radio station, which is currently parked at the top of Middleton Street, will today include various local guests including the town’s mayor Jon Williams.
