It has been a busy and exciting autumn term at Llanelwedd Church in Wales Primary School, with pupils embracing new experiences, learning valuable life skills, and strengthening their links with the local community.
One of the highlights of the term has been the school’s very first Forest School, an outdoor learning adventure enjoyed by children in Dosbarth Glas. Under the expert guidance of parent Nicola Hammond, pupils explored nature through a range of hands-on activities. The pupils worked together to take part in a variety of activities, all while showing curiosity and having fun in the fresh air.
A spokesperson for the school said: “We are grateful to Quackers for generously sponsoring the project, which has already proved to be a wonderful success.”
Meanwhile, the school’s Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils have taken an important step in developing their life skills by completing Emergency First Aid training this autumn. Staff and parents alike are immensely proud that all the older children are now equipped with these vital skills, which could one day help them make a real difference in an emergency.

Elsewhere at Llanelwedd, the school’s six-pupil voice committees have also been hard at work, each meeting weekly and giving every child a chance to play an active role in school life. Their work this term has included organising fundraising events, leading collective worship, planning sports and playground games, caring for the school environment, and building new connections within the local community.
Finally, on Tuesday, November 11, the entire school stopped to observe the traditional two minutes’ silence in honour of Remembrance Day - a moment of reflection and respect shared by all.
