Musicians and performers across Mid Wales will come together this week for a charity gig in aid of Ukraine.
Over a dozen artists are set to play the Pavilion Mid Wales in Llandrindod Wells this Friday and Saturday evening (April 1 and 2) for a special benefit concert.
The concert, entitled “Rock for Ukraine” was organised by the Pavilion Mid Wales to bring the music scene across the area together for a very important cause, show support and raise as much money as possible.
All acts will provide their time and talents free of charge, as will the sound and tech team and the venue, who will also make a donation.
Luke Sparrow, from the Pavilion Mid Wales events team, said: “We are all really proud to see the turnout in support for Ukraine. I’d like to thank all the artists who are performing and all those that couldn’t make it; let’s make the weekend a time of connection and love.
The Secret Faces, a alternative four-piece band from the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, are one of the acts who will be performing on Saturday night.
Speaking about the event, the band said: “The Secret Faces are always proud to support good causes.
“Music is powerful and brings people together so if we can help a little we will, The Secret Faces did not hesitate to say yes to this show at the Pavilion Mid Wales to support the people of Ukraine.
“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”
Builth Wells foursome The New Deadly are another popular band on this weekend’s line-up, set to perform on Friday evening.
The band said: “As a band we are shocked and saddened to see the plight of the Ukrainian people, to be fair, we’re shocked and saddened by anyone feeling the need to flee their homes for the safety of another country, our compassion and empathy isn’t restricted to Ukrainian refugees, it’s for refugees the world over.
“However, this is an opportunity to do a very small bit to help the people of Ukraine. We are happy and proud of the little Mid Wales music community coming together to show our support, and raise some money to help the refugees fleeing across the European continent.
“We hope that our collective small gesture genuinely reaches and helps someone in desperate need right now.”
There is sure to be something for everyone over the two-night event with a host of artists set to take to the iconic stage. Some of the other artists set to perform over the weekend, include psychedelic rock band Empire of Lights, acoustic duo AFBOB and guitarist and composer Toby Hay
