Chris Davies, the MP for Brecon and Radnorshire, has congratulated everyone involved in securing Ystradgynlais a ’Silver Gilt’ in the Wales in Bloom awards.
Wales in Bloom is the regional element of the national Britain in Bloom Competition supported by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). The RHS awards aim to find and celebrate communities with the best floral displays, organic gardening, and water features on offer.
It’s only the second year the team from Ystradgynlais has entered the competition but their efforts in putting up floral displays and hanging baskets have been warmly welcomed in the town.
Mr Davies said: "I have met with the team in Ystradgynlais who have worked so hard in recent years to rejuvenate the town centre to congratulate them on winning their Silver Gilt award.
"I remember last year their hanging basket campaign was so warmly welcomed by the people of Ystradgynlais and it’s great to see the team continuing to improve the look of the town centre. It would be great to see their ideas replicated all over Brecon and Radnorshire."
