MS James Evans says there is discontent in his region over the way in which the Brecon Beacons National Park is being run.

The Brecon and Radnorshire MS said at the Senedd that the park authority recently held a vote of no confidence in a number of Welsh Government-appointed members.

He said there is much discontent locally with how the park is being run and the role of members appointed by the Government.

Mr Evans asked for a statement from the Climate Change Minister, Julie James, on what the Government is doing to support the park and how it appoints Government members to such bodies.

Government Business Minister Lesley Griffiths said Ms James is keeping a close eye on what is going on in the park, but she didn’t think it appropriate to have a statement at the current time.
