A memorial was unveiled over the weekend to remember a 19-year-old man who was killed in a collision almost one year ago.
The mural, which consisted of a bench and a painting, was accompanied by a football match at 2pm to celebrate the life of loved footballer Jordan Ingram from Brecon.
Taking place at the MOD Playing Fields on the Watton, the unveiling took place on Saturday afternoon, November 27, before a one minute silence which was followed by the memorial game between Brecon Northcote FC - Jordan’s team - and Newcastle.
Gareth Pegg of Brecon Northcote and Town described the mural as “beautiful tribute” to the former footballer.
He said: “The Jordan Ingram memorial stand has come together with hard work from Jordan’s friends, family and team mate.
“It’s a beautiful tribute that allows us to remember Jordan and continue the bond with him.”
Various people attended the memorial on Saturday, including Jordan’s mother Nikki, his team mates and various friends, to remember the teenager who sadly died almost one year ago in a one-vehicle collision near Brecon.
The bench and the painting were unveiled at the match just after Saturday lunchtime.
They were dedicated to 19-year-old Jordan who sadly died after he was involved in a single vehicle collision at around 10.30pm on Saturday, December 5, last year on the A470 near the Storey Arms - he was only days from turning 20.
Jordan’s mother Nikki Ingram, who described him as the ‘most beautiful’ man, said: “Jordan died on December 5 which was eight days before his 20th birthday.”
Immediately after his death, football shirts and photos were placed near the stand - which is now the site of the mural - in memory of the keen footballer who was a much loved member of the Brecon Northcote FC team.
Nikki said she received ‘tremendous’ support after she lost her son - including from his various friends.
