A new car share club is being considered in Brecon, and could be a new, greener, and more affordable way to get around – thanks to TrydaNi.

TrydaNi is a not-for-profit Community Benefit Society, and with funding received from the National Lottery Community Fund and the Welsh Government, they have a mission to deliver zero emission car-sharing across Wales - in a way that is affordable, convenient and benefits local communities.

TrydaNi and its community partners already operate 10 car clubs across Wales, and are seeking to expand into areas where there is demand. By sharing rather than owning, members help reduce congestion, cut emissions, and make better use of our roads.

“This project is about making access to an electric car easier, and more affordable for everyone in Brecon,” said Andrew Capel, Mobility Operations Manager at TrydaNi.

“With your support, we can have a Car Club right here, available whenever you need it - without the costs or responsibilities of owning a car.”

Joining and booking is very simple, with help and support available from local coordinators, WhatsApp groups, and a centralised helpline - you’re never alone.

Members can book through the easy-to-use TrydaNi app for just £2 per hour (with a cap of £30 per day), plus 16p per mile (for the first 100 miles). Whether it’s a quick trip to the shops, a scenic weekend drive, or a visit to friends, the club makes driving flexible and affordable.

Safe drivers aged 25–79 are welcome to join, who have:

• Held a full driving licence for at least two years

• No more than six points on their licence

• No previous insurance claims
