Brecon Rotary Club has announced its new president for the coming year.
On June 27, Catherine Quarrell was presented the chain of office from outgoing president Roger Reese.
Roger has a busy and varied year presiding over the club.
He said: “What a year it has been! When I became president 12 months ago few of us imagined that Covid would still be having such a grip on our lives nor could we have foreseen the crisis in Ukraine and, before that, in Afghanistan, the repercussions of which will be with us for many years to come.
“It has been both a challenge and a privilege to have led Rotary during this time and a pleasure to be handing over the presidency of rotary to Cath.”
Incoming president Catherine already has many things planned and is looking forward to making a difference in the community.
She said: “I am humbled that I have been given the responsibility of leading the club, it is a great honour. I would like to ensure that the good work is continued so that we can realise our vision and make a difference.
“Through Rotary, we make a genuine difference and support the community around us. We are always looking for new members, every one of us has something to give - whoever we are, whatever our place in life and if you would like to know more please visit our website or Facebook page.”
Carol Herbert has also joined the team, as the incoming vice president;
Brecon Rotary meets every Monday evening in the Castle Hotel, to enjoy a drink, food and eachother’s company.
