The new president of Builth Wells Rotary has been inducted for the coming year.

On Thursday, July 7, Baden Powell was presented with the chain of office from the outgoing president John Price.

John had held the reins for the past two years and successfully steered the club through the disruptive effects of the pandemic.

He said it had been a great honour and privilege to continue his presidency into a second year which allowed for the inclusion of vulnerable members to participate via Zoom meetings.

John said it was now time to hand over this role to the new President, Baden.

Baden will continue to strive to develop and uphold the legacy passed on to him. This includes events which support the local community and charitable giving including; golf competitions, monthly quiz nights, school competitions, senior citizens’ christmas meal, coffee mornings and many more deeds of service to the public.

This was also an evening of commissioning new officers in the Rotary club. The new vice president is Ciaran O’Connell and the new junior vice president is Robert Evans.

Every member plays an active role in the club, whatever their skills or background.

Builth Wells Rotary Club meets every Thursday evening in The Greyhound Hotel to enjoy fellowship over a meal and drink.
