TRADERS and residents in Hay-on-Wye have admitted their excitement after a new trustee of Hay Castle revealed tentative plans for the iconic building.
A group of local residents agreed a deal for the Norman castle keep and accompanying Jacobean mansion shortly before Hay Festival amid fears over the building's future.
Hay Castle Trust Limited trustees Elizabeth Haycox, Paul Greatbatch, Justin Albert and Nancy Lavin Albert purchased the £2 million building to 'keep it as a part of Hay'.
