CAMPAIGNERS calling for improvements to a monument to the last sovereign Prince of Wales are to present a petition to Welsh Government ministers. Villagers and councillors from Cilmeri, near Builth Wells, will present the e-petition to ministers at the Royal Welsh Show on Tuesday, July 22 as they bid to raise the profile of the monument to Llywelyn ap Gruffudd. The community council wants funds to be spent on improving signage to the monument and maintaing it. It stands at the site where Llywelyn was killed by forces loyal to the English king, Edward I in 1282.
