POLICE are no longer looking for a driver who offered a school pupil a lift and have said there was an innocent explanation.

Dyfed Powys Police appealed for information on Wednesday after receiving reports a driver had offered a lift to a school pupil at 7.30am in the Glasbury area.

The force said it was seeking information on a "suspicious, faded, red low-down car".

This morning the force said it had received an explanation and no offences had been committed.

A message, from the Hay-on-Wye neighbourhood policing team, posted to

the force’s @DPP_NPTBrecon Twitter account, said: "Regarding the red car offering lifts to school children, DPP can confirm that there was an innocent explanation and no offences."
