Following the success of the patient rehabilitation garden project in Brecon Hospital, the Occupational Therapy department have extended the project to include making reindeer from fallen wood from the Bronllys Hospital site.
Earlier this year the department received a new greenhouse, thanks to people’s charitable donations. Although the project has been a great success, there is less to do over the winter months. The team put their heads together to find ways to continue to help with patient’s rehabilitation and decided to make Christmas reindeer.
Members of the team work closely with the patients throughout their rehab enabling them to reach their full potential through a variety of activities.
The project has proven to be a great morale booster as the Reindeer are being purchased by those involved and other staff members, giving all a great sense of achievement.
All proceeds go to funding future Occupational therapy patient activities.
The team have thanked the Works Department who, by supplying materials, have made the whole thing possible.
