WIVES, friends and shipmates of members of the Builth Wells Branch of the Royal Naval Association met on Saturday, October 21 at Builth Wells Golf Club to celebrate Trafalgar Night (212 years to the day of Nelson’s famous victory).
We joined ranks to send absent friends our best wishes and to wish shipmate Danny Jones a speedy recovery. The evening started with a welcome to the guests and a toast to absent friends.
A traditional roast dinner was served and our thanks go to Debs and Shelly for their superb meal.
In conjunction with the golf club’s (thank you Malcolm) a raffle was held which raised £51 for Children in Need and the RNA’s funds, thanks to all suppliers of prizes and purchasers of tickets.
The evening continued in usual naval fashion with telling of tales of byegone days, the odd tot of Nelson’s blood (rum) and general good spirits.
If the foregoing has whetted your appetite come and sample it for real on the third Friday of the month at The Swan (Rugby Club) Builth Wells.
